Time Travel by Loxley

Hi, there! I’m Norine.  The author of this blog, and of  Time Travel by Loxley, the novel I am currently writing.  Loxley is a 14 year old homeschooled girl determined to teach her best friend, Allen, how to time travel.  There’s only one problem:  Loxley hasn’t mastered time travel yet …

“No matter,” interrupts Loxley.  “I’ve traveled a bazillion times with my Papa.  I’m pretty sure I know what I’m doing.  It’s easy.”

“Oh, really?” asks the author, incredulously.  “Do you remember your very first time travel trip with Allen?  Mind you, I have no idea why you were even bothering to teach him.  Only time flyers can fly, and Allen is not a time flyer.  And I suppose you’ve also forgotten about the stealing, the lying, the…

“Whoa, wait, hang on a minute, shhh…, please, don’t say anything about any of that,”  interrupts Loxley, again.  “Let’s not go there, ok? Please?  That’s so embarrassing!” she said as she covered her face to hide her embarrassment.  “And they’re not called ‘trips’.  They’re called ‘flights.’  Ok? Besides, the readers have only just met me.  We don’t have to tell them everything right now, do we?  Can’t they get to know me first?  You make me sound like a vagabond.  I’m not that bad.  Really, I’m not… most of the time.  Anyway, I thought we had agreed that I would tell the story my way?”

You know… she’s absolutely right, actually.   I did promise that she could tell her story her way, right here on the blog.  I truly hope I don’t live to regret that.  Anyway, Loxley has her own section called, “Loxley in Flux: Notes on Time Travel.”  Here you can learn all about Loxley’s adventures and misadventures as a time flyer, and meet Allen, who lives just a few houses down the street.  Sooner or later Loxley will tell you all of her secrets herself (even the embarrassing ones), without any help from me (I’m sure she’ll be glad of that).  We’ll also discover who the Time Flyers are and how they came to be, and the awesome responsibility they have of guarding time.

Hopefully, Loxley will do a great job of telling her story her way, and I hope you enjoy it.  In the meantime, it’s back to work on the novel for me!
